A friend of mine send me an sms days before it read as follows:

"Love is possible after friendship, but freindship is not possible after love...because,medicines work before death but after death no use of medicines"

What you say for such a statement?


After I received this message,I delved into my own experiences of life, and got mixed answers.

Personally I feel it is more circled around, understanding, maturacy and curtailed ego. For many of the friends today I have at one point of life happened to be somewhere near the emotions of love.

Now when I look back, except one or two of them, all happened to be good friends in my life whom I could count when I am most troubled, or even in my happiest moments of life.

I feel much the same as you B.Even in a relationship I ended over her repeated infidelity.After a period of anger and hurt from losing trust,I realized I couldn't deny her strength of character and trust in all other ways.We remained friends for years until we finally just lost touch.I think we all have our strengths and weaknesses and we should consider this before discarded a friendship.

It depends upon the person him/herself...In general men I knew before are still my friends up to date,,,1 or two aren't & I never considered them on the map of my life cause I was hurted by them...
It is something good to remain friends after all & how come people can forget all their beautiful memories behind in case the wind came against their ship for certain reasons?
In my opinion, friendship will be stronger than before in case both knew very well how to turn the wheels & move forward instead of boycotting as if nothing was there,

Nice OQ, I fully agree to your thoughts. Infact, I consider that those who failed to maintain friendship were immature on their part.

Infact, after a intimacy bacomes matter of past, understanding furthers and it makes bond of frienship become stronger. After all we knew the person better than many others around & why to forget beautiful memories.Terry I fully agree to your thoughts and appreciate ur gesture too.

even though i have no idea but lemme say this ... if u care for them u will wish them the best ... and a part of love is caring so this means that i can be a friend of someone i loved then ended love with for some reason ........ hmmmmmmm but now am thinking maybe it depends on the reason of the break up i guess

What is distinction between love and friendship? I thought a friend was one for whom you are a well-wisher. If you love someone you will make sacrifices for them. But no, you'd be expected to make sacrifices for your friend too. Perhaps, for a friend it is on a reciprocal basis, while in love, it could be unilateral. Sorry for un-romantic language!!

Certainly agree with OQ, B... I mean storms may appear wildly, but not live the rest of your life with the mess it caused but move on and clean it's mess and live beautiful life again with the wind again... Well, the intensity of love also defines the intensity of friendship. We could be in love with a person and then happen not to succeed in a relationship. It so happens then we bury all the emotions of past and then try to behave as normally as possible. However, then somewhere the emotions sustain and we tend not to maintain a freindship, for each time we see the person going away from us or coming more near with reigniting the emotions.

So, simply, friendship can remain even after love but then what could be the nature of that freindship?

Well, so far as maturacy and understanding is concerned, in a friendship after love the one major thing that rules is KEEP REMINDING YOURSELF THE LIMITS OF FRIENDSHIP :)
